Here's a picture with all of the things I bought yesterday. In August I will be moving out, and now it's time to shop for some nice stuff to take with me to my new appartment. Everything is vintage/second hand.

Another inspiration post. I found these images on various tumblr, but unfortunately I lost the sources. If you recognize something, feel free to leave a comment below.

Sometimes there are music videos that are so cool they're really worth sharing. The music video of Radio Ladio, performed by Metronomy is one of those. What do you think?

From 21th to 23th of June the first edition of Best Kept Secret festival took place in Hilvarenbeek. I was really thrilled that I got the chance to go there together with a bunch of good friends. It was indescribably fantastic. Also it was my first time ever visiting a festival.

Friday
At friday we left home with huge rucksacks, nearly missed the train, nearly forgot to buy train tickets, but in the end we arrived safely at the festival terrain. On this first day we saw some cool acts from The Maccabees, Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys, Tourist, and Doldrums. We explored the festival terrain and found out that there was a cute little place where roasted potatoes were being sold for only one festival coin (2 euros). Also we tried some delicious fries from Pomm's, while normally I don't even like fries. The Arctic Monkeys really did well: the crowd literally went crazy. Everybody was jumping around and despite the fact that the sound quality wasn't so well that day, it was a fantastic experience to finally see this band performing a live act! The picture above was taken during their concert.

Saturday
At saturday there were more great artists to come. We've had such a hard time choosing from all the options on the timetable and planning what time we would go eat something, because then we'd miss one act. In the end we've seen performances of: Agnes Obel, Allah-Lahs, Alt-J, Balthazar, Damien Rice, Efterklang, Letherette, Savages and Wavves.
I was quite excited to see Agnes Obel, but unfortunately the sound was so terrible that we left after a few minutes. It was nearly impossible to hear Agnes' voice, all I could hear was just a few of the piano tones. It was kind of a disappointment that her performance was so bad as I was expecting way more of such a great artist.
Alt-J was really great. Everything in their act was just perfect, maybe even more than that. The same goes for Savages and Letherette's DJ set.

Sunday
At sunday morning I didn't feel well, so I decided to go back home earlier with a friend of mine. But when we went to the festival terrain I got a bit better so we stayed a little longer. Sundays best act was by far Portishead. I didn't even like Portishead before, because I always had the feeling that there was some kind of bass missing. Well, this performance made me a huge fan. They turned up the bass really hard and everything was just tuned so well...
In the end my friend and I missed the last train home, so we had to stay in a hotel because it was already too late to go back to the festival terrain. We sat on the streets for a few hours, as it was an unknown city to us, and all of the hotels were rejecting us with our huge backpacks and not-so-clean looking festival outfits and hair. Finally we did get in to a hotel and the next day we arrived home safely :)

I must say that despite the fact that I think quality and originality is very important in fashion, I rarely buy very expensive items. Most of the time I go home from shopping with some awesome bargains or vintage or thrifted items. That way I'm spending little money, whilst still maintaining a style that doesn't look cheap. Or at least I hope so ;)

Most of the time I get my inspiration from sites such as Tumblr and Lookbook, or from the few fashion bloggers I've been following for years now, but another source of inspiration is H&M.
I think H&M is being criticized far too often for being some kind of mass-consumption store and not really stylish, but I don't agree with that.
It's true that H&M comes with a lot of trends that are very recognizable as being a trend from H&M. These trends don't last long and it's just like a short period explosion. I don't really like these trends either, though it can be really nice if you're just looking for an eye-catching designer lookalike to wear for a short period of time.
What I do really like about H&M is that they have a lot of well-priced beautiful basics. I'm not talking about the super basic items only, also COS-inspired, minimalistic clothes are part of their collections. Isn't that great?
Below I've posted some of my favorite looks:
